Dear Students and Parents,

Welcome to the 2018-2019 school year! I hope you have had a relaxing and restful summer. We had a very successful 2017-2018 school year in our educational and co-curricular program. We were once again named a Silver Medal School by the U.S. News and World Report. This is the seventh straight year that our school has been awarded a Silver Medal. Our Ag Program had a very successful fair season with multiple awards. Our athletics program is thriving with a record number of our teams reaching the play-offs and our Boys’ Track Team bringing home a league banner.  Academically, Waterford High School obtained the highest percent of students meeting or exceeding standards in language arts in Stanislaus County. This level of consistent success is made possible by the strong partnerships between our school’s teachers, staff, parents, students, and community. We are looking forward to another successful school year in Wildcat Country.

Please take a moment to read through our handbook as it contains information on our rules, expectations, important dates, extra-curricular activities, athletics participation criteria, and much more. It is important that new students become familiar with our expectations and returning students review our expectations so that we can have an excellent school year. This agenda not only contains valuable information, but it is an excellent tool to help students stay organized and keep track of assignments. This agenda can also serve as a method of communication between staff and parents.

I am a strong believer in the power of education. At WHS we are committed to giving all of our students the opportunity to develop their talents and receive a high quality education. We will continue to work hard to deliver on our commitment. To all our staff, students, families, and community members, thank you for supporting our school and for working hard to make Waterford High School the amazing place it is.

Sincerely,

Ignacio Ramirez, Ed. D.
