Ms. Tonya Bibbins, Principal
On behalf of the Waterford Unified School District Board of Trustees, Administration and Staff of Sentinel High School, I would like to welcome you to the 2019-2020 school year. It is with great pleasure that I introduce myself as the new principal of Sentinel High School. I am honored to join a school with such a strong tradition of student success. The 2019-2020 school year will mark my 21st year in education. My experience in the classroom was at both the middle and high school levels in English-Language Arts, Mathematics and Sciences. My experience in administration was at both the comprehensive high school level and with Alternative Education. I enjoy interacting with students, helping them explore their strengths and weaknesses and building upon that to create successful and confident future members of our Waterford community..
At Sentinel, we prioritize that all students will be SAINT's. By that we mean students will develop
- Skills and knowledge that they can apply to real-world settings
- Analytical reasoning and critical thinking skills that will support them outside of school
- Innovative and creative talents
- New technology acumen
- Teamwork and skills that foster their ability to work collaboratively
Student success is rooted in creating life-long learners who develop the ability to self-reflect on their own progress, allowing them to adapt and communicate with teachers, staff members, community and parents to make gains in their learning. Regular and punctual attendance, appropriate behavior, and full cooperation are the core values that lead to student success at school and in life.
Please stay connected with us throughout the school year. You and your student are always welcome to visit the office.and check out our activities and events either in person or through our webpage. I encourage parents and students to get involved - it is essential in order to meet the needs of our students. Our staff is committed to making every effort to ensure all students have the opportunity to be successful and graduate with what is needed to compete in the complex world we live and work in.
I look forward to an amazing school year and to being a part of the future success at Sentinel High - Go Saints!
