Principal's Message

Ms. Peggy Herndon, Principal

On behalf of the Waterford Unified School District Board of Trustees, Administration and Staff of Sentinel High School, I would like to welcome you to the 2018-2019 school year. It is my sincere hope that the educational learning experience here will be both meaningful and successful in meeting each student's educational goals.

Our staff is looking forward to working with parents, students, and the community to better address the needs of our students. Our campus must be conducive to learning. Regular and punctual attendance, appropriate behavior, and full cooperation are the core values that lead to student success at school. We expect our students to be actively engaged in the learning process on a daily basis.

Sentinel High School is an alternative option and we do offer an a “alternative” curriculum. We emphasize student responsibility for assignment completion, and very importantly, “time on task” for which students receive variable credit.

Please stay connected with us throughout the school year. You and your student are always welcome to visit the office. I encourage parents and students to get involved - it is essential in order to meet the needs of the students. Our staff is committed to making every effort to ensure all students have the opportunity to be successful and graduate with what is needed to compete in the complex world we live and work in.

I look forward to working with you as an educational partner this year.
