SUMMER CAREER EDUCATION BOOT CAMP
The Stanislaus County Office of Education is excited to launch the 1st Summer Career Education Boot Camp in association with the Stanislaus County Career Inspiration Center on June 6-10, 2022. The program will run from 8:30-11:30 a.m. at the Stanislaus Military Academy in Empire. Currently, 9 career programs are offered. The classes are open to all Stanislaus County high school students and incoming freshmen who are currently enrolled in the 8th grade. Space is limited to 15 students in each career program and filled on a first-come, first-serve basis. Transportation will not be provided. CAREER PATHWAYS
Construction With the rapid growth in Stanislaus County, this class will engage in hands-on activities related to the construction industry. Students will learn how to build a tool tote and a planter box and apply concrete stones.
Cosmetology
This class will cover all areas of cosmetology. Students will partake in how to apply make-up along with an array of learning different styles. In addition, students will work on manicures and skincare routines (esthetician).
Technology
This class will teach students how to code in the fast-growing world of technology. Students will also have a chance to educate themselves in robotics.
Business and Entrepreneurship
The objective of this class is to learn how to start up your own business. Students will be involved step-by-step in starting up a business and working on developing a portfolio.
Medical
This class aims to cover a variety of medical professions. The curriculum includes medical billing, physical therapy assistant, pharmacy tech, and vocational nursing.
Law Enforcement
This class will be held at Modesto's Institute of Technology (I.O.T.). Students with be participating in DETAC (Basic Strikes and Defensive Tactics), Spartan Challenge P.T. course, and Force Option Simulation. Students will also learn safety course, anatomy, and basic rules of firearm (all firearms are replicas - please contact Sanjay Bhan at sbhan@stancoe.org(link sends e-mail) or call (209) 238-6635 for any questions).
Aviation
The learning objective of this class is to learn basic drone skills. Students will also partake in a flight simulator (via computer) while learning basic aviation skill sets and aviation law.
Education
This class will provide an opportunity for students to learn classroom management, curriculum development, and strategies for future teachers.
Electrical
This class will get students started on basic electrical (AC/DC) with hands on multi-meters skills. This is an excellent chance for students to familiarize themselves with fundamental electrical skills.
