🌸 A big thank you to Ms. Yoko for visiting our Kindergarten classes and sharing a little piece of Japan with us! The students were thrilled to learn a few Japanese words, hear about the beauty of Japanese culture, and try their hands at folding origami. The crane, a symbol of honor, good fortune, and longevity, made this experience even more special! ✨ It was amazing to see their excitement as they carefully folded their paper, just like generations before them have done in Japan—a tradition that dates back to Buddhist monks bringing paper to the country. ✨ Golden Touch in the Art Room! ✨ Mrs. Flanery’s 2nd graders just wrapped up an incredible visual arts project our very own King Midas Greek story vase! 🏺✨ We dove into the legendary myth of King Midas, explored ancient Greek pottery techniques, and watched how real vases were made using the black-figure style. Then, with steady hands and lots of creativity, students outlined and painted their designs, bringing the golden tale to life. The results? On Monday, we celebrated 100 Days of Learning in the most creative and fun way! 🎉 Students wowed us with their amazing t-shirts decorated with 100 items—like stickers, buttons, pom-poms, and stamps—along with some fantastic hairstyles and outfits that transformed them into 100-year-olds. From colorful shirts to hilarious hairdos, their creativity and excitement made the day so special.
