Waterford Unified School District would like to introduce their new Program Specialist for Special Education, Modesto native Gary Rooney. As the Regionalized Program provider of education for children with moderate to severe special needs, Waterford USD has an extensive special needs program that excels at equipping students to become independent and successful citizens.
Mr. Rooney is well qualified for the position, having spent the last 11 years working in special education in Stanislaus County: 5 years as a district administrator (Program Specialist), and 6 years working in the classroom as a Special Education Specialist, of which four of these years were spent at Waterford Unified School District (WUSD).
“I am very excited to return to WUSD as a program specialist to support the special education department,” declares Mr. Rooney, who will begin his new position in July.
